in order to document my evolving art style and practice, i will be designing a mini calendar for each month and an annual lunar calendar. This project is an effort for me to track trends in my practice and see how i develop throughout the course of the year.

ah, january! notoriously the most bleak month of the year. i thought i would brighten it up. january’s calendar was inspired by black cats, new growth, the color blue, and the wintery mix hitting the Sierra Nevadas.

February, february, february. somehow simultaneously the shortest and longest month. i focused this month’s calendar on the intense mania that can come with the depths of winter. I centered the color red, to highlight the jarring nature of this frustrating time of year.

march is very personal for me. it’s the month i was born, and as a bit of a quintessential pisces, march can be a time of great emotion for me. i really enjoyed pushing myself to try new things with this calendar. 31 is looking good!
